A Moblog for Every Major Event?

Textamerica

"Moblog company Textamerica has set up a moblog for people who want to use their camera phones to post photos relating to the impending hurricane/tropical storm Isabel.  The storm is scheduled to hit the East Coast of the United States, in North Carolina, and work its way northward to where I live in Maryland.

The moblog, Look Outside, only has two photos (so far) showing clear blue skies.  The calm before the storm....

Establishing these ad hoc moblogs is a good way for Textamerica to generate publicity.  It's also a good way to evangelize the value -- spontaneous, wireless photography -- of moblogs." [Reiter's Wireless Data Web Log]

Or, as Jon Stewart said on The Daily Show last night, you people in North Carolina stand at the windows and put yourself in harm's way so that I can see... what lots of rain looks like. Those of you in South Carolina can send your pictures to GoUpstate.com!

This reminds me, though - is there a moblog set up for BloggerCon? Not that I'll be able to join in because I don't have a capable phone yet, but it seems a natural fit.
