Internet Librarian Presentations Now Available!

Sorry, still swamped. However, I did manage to upload the various presentations I did (mostly with Steven Cohen) at the Internet Librarian conference a couple of weeks ago. On the SLS site, you can find our preconference presentation and a cybertour I did on using blogging to market yourself (I filled in for Steven because it was his idea but it was scheduled after he left Monterey). Over on Steven's site, you can view our presentation about RSS (Powerpoint file).

Other presentation links from the conference here, while pointers to blog posts about it are here. An attendee named Janis started a blog called What's New to gather her thoughts about the conference, and I particularly want to highlight her assessment of Bloglines!

1."I've been wanting to know what is going on in the tech world outside of my library. So, I went to bloglines and signed up to receive some library and technology blog newsfeeds. Now, each day I've been going in to see what people are reporting about on their blogs. So far it has been great. I'm learning new words. I've learned that Kalamazoo Public Library (MI) is circulating MP3 players! The University of Michigan and the federal government are working toward a new database of research on child care in America. I've also kept up on what Calvin and Hobbes are doing. This has been great so far. I highly recommend it."

2. "Since getting back from the IL conference, I have begun getting all the new postings from some library news websites sent to my bloglines acct for me to check. I already feel more informed. I would never have taken the time to go to all of those websites just to see if they had anything interesting. Try it! www.bloglines.com"

I couldn't have said it better myself!
