Libraries and Copyright
There are more details in the post, including the reading schedule and additional comments by the author. I really wish I could participate in this one, but this is an even worse time of year than normal for me to try reading a book on a schedule. I wish I could listen to it from Audible, but no luck (although they do have a 54-minute speech by Stephen). I think this will be a great discussion, and I hope someone will post their thoughts on it. On a copyright side note, one of the great things about my new executive director, Alice Calabrese, is that she is the Chair of ALA's Office for Information Technology Policy. Recently she showed me some PR for a comic book that ALA is releasing this summer, Complete Copyright: An Everyday Guide for Librarians, by Carrie Russell. I don't have any real details yet, but I scanned the following postcard to show a sense of (what I assume is) the content. Clicking on the picture will take you to the full version. It should be interesting, and I can't wait to see it. Could this be the start of a series? Perhaps one about the public domain and the information commons could be next....
