A Big Thank You to Karen!

I'm supposed to be in California right now for the Annual LITA Forum (follow along at the LITA Blog, getting ready to co-present on RSS with John Law from ProQuest this weekend. However, with everything going on at home, I just didn't feel comfortable leaving right now.

You can imagine how guilty I feel about this, but Karen Schneider has agreed to present my slides in my place, so I want to publicly thank her and encourage all LITA attendees to cheer her on, thank her for me, and even buy her a drink (afterwards, not before!). In fact, if you buy her a beer, send me the bill and I'll pay you back for her drink and yours. :-)

Aside from my appreciation, though, I think you should go see the presentation anyway because John's slides of ProQuest's RSS implementation fall into the "too-damn-cool" category. I can't wait for the final product to be released, and I think a lot of folks are going to get even more excited about RSS after they see this. It will help turn on a lot of those light bulbs.

So, my apologies to LITA attendees that I can't be there in person, a big "good luck" to John and Karen, and one more "really big thanks" for Karen!

Life vs. Blogging

At least this time my blogging software isn’t to blame. No, we’ve just had some medical problems going on at home that have been taking up all of my time lately. I’m not complaining because it’s not life-threatening, but I’ve definitely had to move all of my energies into my home [and offline] life for now.

I’ve barely been online during the last two months, so if you sent me email and didn’t get a reply, that’s one reason why. Resend your message if you really need a response.

I hope to start updating the site again during the next few weeks, but I’ll see how things go. Right now, life is easily beating out blogging, so I’ll see you back here when things even out a little more.
