Tips -These are two of my favorite Dreamweaver tips from the tips app that is going live on the DesDev site. Copying History steps to another document by Visan Madalin #161 You know how you get to working on a product and you know it really well and you think that you are not going to get surprised by something really cool that was there and you didn't know about? Not the little surprises, but the big ones? The History Panel is one of those cool things that I use. I undo and redo in a document and sometimes I save the steps out as a command. What I did not know is that you those. You can copy history steps between documents. This is really neat as you can reuse your steps without cluttering up your command menu. For something really specific that you won't want to do often, this is a great tip. Auto-focus on a form field when the page loads by LeAnne Egge #281 I am not the king of JavaScript so going through the sites and the books to get all the little tidbits is difficult for me. This tip is one of those things that I always wanted to do and never had the time to go look up. I am just going to quote LeAnne here. "In design view, select then right-click the tag on the tag selector bar and select "edit tag...". Enter the following attribute in the tag after the word "body" but without the * in it: on*load="document.formname.fieldname();" where formname is the name of your form, and fieldname is the name of the form field you want to load with focus. " Simple and very very useful. [Matt Brown's Dreamweaver Blog]
