An E3 for PDAs?

"In a recent report released by Handango, game and entertainment software accounted for a whopping 38% of all PDA software sales. (Anyone else think the hardware manufacturers are missing the boat by not creating a hot gaming PDA with a good built-in controller, fast CPU, and a tiny 3D chip?) As further proof that PDA entertainment has hit the “big time,” Infinite Ventures has announced that the first Mobile Entertainment & Game Expo will be held October 23-24 in downtown Hollywood, in conjunction with the Pocket PC summit. For those familiar with the PC and console gaming markets, this conference will be similar to the Game Developer’s Conference, but with more of a marketing focus. Will this jump-start the interest of major developers in creating handheld gaming software? With Sega, Infogrames, and other mainstream game developers already dabbling in handheld gaming, we think things will just get more exciting come 2003. The first day of the expo will focus on mobile gaming (cell phones and other handheld devices in addition to PDAs), while the second day will center on handheld video and music entertainment. Registration is $199. For more information, see www.megexpo.com ." [PDABuzz.com]
